Firearms Training with Central Arizona College provides various opportunities to enhance one's skills and comfort level with firearms. You will find courses designed for the beginner to novice, and classes that lead to certification such as Concealed Carry Permit.

Central Arizona College Police Department offers a practical firearms and gear familiarization class focused on concealed carry considerations. This course covers common handguns, holsters, and everyday carry accessories used by the general public.

Instruction is provided by Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training Board–certified firearms instructors, who guide attendees through handgun types, proper holster fit and retention, and useful gear such as lights and spare magazines. The course emphasizes safe handling, situational awareness, and basic legal considerations, enabling attendees to make informed decisions about what to carry.

Examples of common handguns and related equipment will be available for hands-on familiarization. Attendees are not required to bring a firearm; however, they may do so if they would like instructor feedback.

*** NO AMMUNITION IS PERMITTED. ANY FIREARM BROUGHT BY AN ATTENDEE MUST REMAIN SECURED IN THEIR VEHICLE UNTIL OTHERWISE INSTRUCTED.
